New York, NY (PRWEB) July 26, 2011

In recognition of their work with physicians, the principals of The Abernathy Group II, Steven Abernathy and Brian Luster, have been named a 2011 MD Preferred Service Award recipient. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are approximately 700,000 physicians in the United States who work in excess of 60 hours per week. While the earning potential is the highest among any profession in the United States, demands on time and pressure from a host of sources impairs physicians? ability to oversee their personal finances. An elite group of financial advisors is emerging as specialists to the medical community, including The Abernathy Group II, who are eager to assist physicians in overcoming these obstacles. Every MD Preferred Financial Advisor is a ?Fee for Service Only?, SEC registered fiduciary that must meet stringent professional and ethical standards to eliminate any potential conflict of interest.

Each year, US Medical Specialties, Inc., a national medical consulting firm, recognizes excellence in service to the medical community in a number of disciplines including financial advisory services, real estate, insurance and legal services. The goals of the MD Preferred Program for Financial Advisors include identifying, acknowledging and promoting service excellence to the medical community.

The program provides medical professionals with a recognizable national icon that assures specialized services and an understanding of the unique needs of physicians and their families. ?Doctors are very busy professionals,? observed Michael O?Malley, Project Manager of MD Preferred Services. ?When it comes to finding a service professional that specializes in serving physicians, they appreciate an organization that has done the research for them and has pulled a team together to make their lives easier.?

The Abernathy Group II (http://www.abbygroup.com), one of the oldest investment firms in the nation devoted to the medical profession, formally launched a new type of Specialty Family Office for high-net worth doctors called The Abernathy Group II Physician Family Office (PFO) on June 20, 2011. A Family Office is a professional entity designed to manage the investments, business affairs, and Trusts for high-net-worth families confidentially and more cost-effectively. The Abernathy Group II is one of the most highly regarded and highly rated professional investment firms in the United States and its owners, Steven Abernathy and Brian Luster, have been advising medical doctors and their families since 1991. The firm has received 16 number one rankings, in various categories, from Nelson Information?s World?s Best Money Managers and two ?Best? rankings from Barron?s since 1993.

?The MD Preferred Service Award is testament to our on-going commitment to empower physicians to become better stewards of their capital by providing access to financial experts and placing the interests of physicians and their families ahead of the interests of our firm?, stated Brian Luster. ?This commitment is further exemplified by our non-profit operating model, whereby we rebate any profits back to our clients, and through our Board of physicians who help us continue to improve our service offering for the changing needs of the medical community.?

The Abernathy Group II is one of less than 500 financial advisors nationwide that has received the prestigious MD Preferred Service Award and only one of five in NYC.

Advice is an energy that attracts many undesired elements into its own general equation. Everything from people wanting attention or acceptance to salesmen in ?consultants? clothing at the expense of unsuspecting persons receiving bad advice. And it doesn?t takes a genius to determine that no advice is better than bad advice, and no advice can even be better than mediocre advice. “There are literally too many advice websites to count and too many unqualified people giving advice…” explains founder Chad Vice of the Advice Watch by Advice Star… …”There are also persons highly qualified to give advice about a topic or perhaps a few topics, but not about others; nonetheless jump right into advising on such topics.” Thus, there needed to be an advice watch.

But why has there never been an all field advice watch? Well in some fields, such as legal, medical, and accounting, the ?advice watch? is the licensing body. Hence, you can not give legal advice without being an attorney; you can not give medical advice without being a licensed physician, and so forth? But what about those who give advice about other topics in which one does not need to have any license? Why isn?t there an entity that recognizes great contributions of advice in recognition of the advice itself by means of the style, thoroughness, and unhidden motives? What about those who do in fact need a license to give advice as far as the content of the advice, but their style of giving such advice is deserving of recognition of being really good or not so good??

Part of the reason may be because of the fear for lawsuits such as defamation of character. But the new Advice Watch by Advice Star has a solution? Be an advice watch, but do so positively. The idea is that those websites and individuals who are recognized at the Advice Watch website are there for a reason? They give great advice without any apparent ulterior motives within the advice itself. Those who are not have not ?yet? been recognized by the Advice Watch. The Advice Watch page located at: http://www.AdviceWatch.org is currently in beta stage and encourages anyone to provide advice tips on how it should function in order to provide the best availability of advice, free and clear of ulterior motives.

The Advice Watch by Advice Star is not an advice website, but rather primarily provides growing watch lists pointing to other advice related websites. It does not try to confine one within its own site or community, but actually consistently refers to other advice pages and sites. This encourages other sites to strive at providing better advice and formats for giving advice or tips in order to be recognized and linked to.

The Advice Watch by Advice Star is also seeking to award ?Advice Star? awards to individuals, websites, and other entities that provide award winning advice or tips on any topic. A custom made plaque and certificate with the Advice Watch seal is given to those who are awarded such to display at home or place of business. A website is not necessary to receive the award and recognition. Anyone can nominate, and anyone can submit sites and individuals for evaluation. The Advice Watch is also in the process of developing a site seal that can be displayed on websites that pass certain criteria of providing professional advice or tips at such site.
